LOGO VARIATIONS

The main logo plays with the idea of shadows representing the concrete physicality of an object, implying the potential physicality of a dream. The compact secondary logo is for use at small sizes, and it is based on the Dream Bold typeface with a dynamic and elongated character E.

THE ZINE LAYOUTS

Analog collages are the starting point of the layout creation process. The use of real scissors, glue, markers and paper creates the stage for the photographs. The final physical object’s tactility is a big part of the motivation behind the project.

Custom typeface

Dream Regular and Dream Bold are two typefaces designed specifically for the zine. They are based on marker handwriting, and heavily influenced by a mix of architects' and tagging writing.

MERCH

A t-shirt was designed for the launch of the zine’s issue number 1, along with a set of stickers that are shipped inside the zine. The sticker is reminiscent of a specific era of skateboarding and riff on, as a homage to, several iconic brands.

SOCIAL MEDIA

Although the zine prides itself on being a printed object, the inevitability of product promotion via social media is balanced by adding analog materials to the social media posts. Community-building is also a big part of embracing social media as a channel for distribution.

BONDO GRID

Car body filler is used to fill in, and smooth cracks and other imperfections on the ground’s surface for better skateability. This product was recontextualized as the background for the photo collage of the zine’s first 9-post launch campaign.
